Hey, people ![]()
I have news. The caterpillar’s name is Harry.
Cassiecat asked me yesterday if I’d given it a name. I said she could pick one and if I liked it, it’d stick. I had to retain powers of veto in case she came up with something like TractorNuts. As it turned out, she came up with ‘Harry’.
Perfect ![]()
The pupa is being a lazy little sausage and not doing anything. But that’s ok…it’s a baby’s prerogative.
Ade, you’d actually ID’ed the caterpillar last month here and I reckon you were and are spot on. Thanks also to Jennnn and Pamela for IDs and additional thanks to Pamela for the link!

NOW THEN…here’s something simple from yesterday’s outing with the parents to Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve…
…a Chocolate Pansy (Junonia hedonia ida). Not a great shot but wanted to share it anyway.

Well arn't I the clever dicky
But to be honest it is my thing I suppose. I always name my insect subjects while I'm working with them, I know I'm mad as a hatter!
This is just a stunning butterfly image and another one for me too aspire too, cracking work matey!
Ade
A fantastic close up of this beautiful brown butterfly, the colouring and detail has been perfectly recorded. Harry is a good name for your caterpillar as it keeps your options open, Harold if it is a boy, Harriet if it is a girl. ![]()

X2 !
I thought for a moment that your new baby had emerged early!

Harry the Butterfly - there's definitely a children's story waiting to be written there Andrew! Great capture.
kind regards,
Robin
P.S. Glad you liked my profile picture. Luke keeps taking shots of me of late as he is working on a project on family for his degree work. Wish I hadn't bought him such a good DSLR - shows up the lines on my face too much for my liking!
