Way hey! Major thanks to Lynne(Joyce) and Hilary (DolphinLady) for their much appreciated User Awards on my grasshopper close-ups GrinGrin

That evening, while my flash was still attached, I decided to get flashy on a couple of flowers. [Nobody called the cops…*phew*]

This double blue pea was in a funny half-hidden position within its mass of viney things. I tried angling it right and it came off in my hand. Bah. So I held it up between forefinger and thumb and flashed it. Awesomely enough, there was nothing nearby behind it and the background was thrown into almost blackness! So turning it fully black was easy peasy on the computer Grin

This ain’t exactly a flat flower and I wanted as much as poss in focus…so I used f11. Quite happy with the way it turned out. Took some lantana as well but I haven’t checked out the shots. *Fingers crossed* that at least a couple have turned out well!

Alrighty…enough of my ramblings…

That's the way to do it Andrew!!!!!! The veining and texture of the flower shows off to perfection with that bounce of light from the flash.

Always have been a huge fan of these wonderful flowers. You've really have brought out the texture and rich colours and the black bg does it's usual excellent job of throwing the whole flower forward.
