And no, I don’t mean the Chinese restaurant GrinGrin

Actually, my mum was born in the Year of the Dragon…and when she turned 60, she was technically a Golden Dragon (5 x 12, i.e., the 5th cycle of the dragon year since she was born…from a Chinese/lunar calendar standpoint, that is). Hmm...at least I think that's right.

ANYWAY…enough waffling! Just three dragonfly shots for today. Taken today. The haze situation wasn’t so bad so I went into the garden for a bit. Fortunately this little fella was waiting for me. Not a spectacular looking dragonfly but still uploadworthy, I thought.

I’m not crazy about V3 but I thought I’d put it up anyway ‘cos I like how the eye turned out Smile

So well composed Andrew - I have a liking (preference) for v2. I don't know why, but it works for me. Superb details and background to show him off.

WOW, love this supermodel and you have captured its metallic sheen beautifully.

Re Chinese years etc. I was born in the year of the pig and Contrary to its rather negative reputation in the West, the Pig of Chinese Astrology may be the most generous and honorable sign of the Zodiac. But does that mean that when I was 60 I was a golden Pig? If it does I'm sorry I missed the opportunity to buy myself a gold piggy bank for luck (fat chance of anyone else buying me one)!

We take these little creatures for granted, but when you see them close up they're just so exotic. Lovely shot Andrew.

Three real belters Andrew, you should be jolly pleased with how they have turned out. The details and clarity are exceptional and the backgrounds great. I visited the Somerset Levels with the Osmants today but none of us managed even one shot of a dragonfly, they were hyperactive in the warm weather
