Mandy and Jennn: Truth be told, not much work went into this. Well...didn't feel like it, anyway
The original shot, like most of my shots, was an incidental one. I was there, I saw something, and CLICK.
I was at a shopping centre and there was this shop selling mini fountains and water features and one had this glass ball spinning over running water. Some green and red lights illuminated the ball from below.
I leaned in close and with macro, went CLICK. Then scuttled away before the shopkeeper saw me
As for the process:

1. Did a circular selection to select the ball. Desaturated it 100%. Pushed blue 90%.
2. Inverted the selection. Desaturated 100%. Pushed green 90%.
3. Did mega motion blur.
4. Flipped it over.
5. Threw a frame around it.
