Thanks so much for the warm welcome back, people Wink

Now then...here are some dew drops I found one morning. At least I think they're dew drops! Could they have been something secreted by the leaves?? 'Cos they're just so evenly distributed.

What do you reckon?

Andrew

Quite extraordinary. And very beautiful. It's not April Fools' Day so I assume that someone may come along with a serious explanation.

That is amazing. The irregular drops on top of the lowest leaf look like dew to me but I'm not sure about the round bobbly ones. Are you sure this isn't one of those sneaky flesh-eating plants?
An impressive capture.

Dew drops I reckon. I have seen this effect before. Makes a beautiful pearly necklace on those leaves, Andrew.

It looks like someone has sewn little crystal beads all round the leaves, making a lovely effect.Smile

Looks like I am not alone in lovely jewellery! A plant after my own heart! Tongue I've seen little pearly drops on plant leaves, flower or seedheads which are hairy but this one is a surprise and very pretty. Great capture.

It looks like a rose leaf, Andrew, and as far as I know a rose doesn's secrete anything, so my guess is that it is dew drops. What a wonderful 'necklace', well spotted and captured.; Carol

Hi guys, you have another jewellery freak here, so I'm bound to love these jewel like drops because they glitter! My guess is that heavy dew has almost run off the leathery surface of the leaves but surface tension around the small spikes at the edge of the leaves has caused these lovely beads to form.

Very well observed and taken and I hope that some manufacturing jeweller takes note of this and creates an enamel and briolette diamond brooch from it. If they do they will have a willing client in me.

I have one plant in the garden that does this, but only when there has been light misty rain or dew, so I agree with LynneJoyce! Great shot with super clarity.

cant make this out at all....
it is a beautiful image for sure... but it looks false ... by that I mean I cant work out how it has occurred
The drops look too big for dew ...and dew doesnt stay on the points of a leaf like that
and its not a leaf that looks like the water would travel to the ends so evenly
Please , if you can, put me out of my misery and tell me how it has occurred ....
I would appreciate that ...WinkWink

Lol...I have NO idea why this is the way it is, Barbara. I just found it like that. Lynne's explanation sounds like that might be it Smile
