There is a swan couple on the LeedsLiverpool canal based near where my jon works.
We visited them yesterday.Twas freezing and camera didnt come out too often......
Every year now only one of their offspring has survived.Not sure why.
This one surprised me with its brown feathers.
Never seen this colour before.

What are they called before 6 months? I thought juvenile covered the period before they became
fully grown swans?

cygnets ?????????
from what I have read they are cygnets....around the 6 month period they usually leave the family home and then are known as juveniles
Then it can take up to 4 years to mate....
But heh ho I am no expert
