This old lady sits in this street almost every day asking for change... I see her in the same place everytime I go to the old town.
There are also two dogs that sleep beside her throughout the day. As long as she is there the dogs stay put..
Old age concern? I think this makes a very moving image.

I agree wholeheartedly with Carol. Society is judged by how it cares for the elderly. ( I have a vested interest )

It is rare where I stay Isabel to see the eldery on the streets,it is mainly the younger fitter ones I see.
And it is getting more common as time goes on !!
Good reportage shots.

Excellent captured image...yes, a very moving image. I remembered that I saw people singing sad songs in the street when I visited Portugal many years ago. i don't speak Portuguese, I have no idea what they were singing..sounded sad..Fado? Perhaps...
I prefer V2, i would even crop off the top of the wall, to "drag" her colser to viewer.. If she is there everyday, take another shot , When you visit Portugal again,...Smile , hope that she is still there,..see if you could avoid the post, or position it in the place you can easily get rid of it in photoshop...

A excellent shot. you have captured the moment very well. What does it look like in B/W ? If you see the shot regular, try taking it so the bollard is not in view.
