The Old (Medieval) Town of Rhodes (Rhodos) is just amazing. Inside a huge Castle, the streets are not laid out on a grid -- not even close. They present a labyrinth of beauty...There are roughly 200 streets or lanes that simply have no name. Getting lost here is not a defeat; it's an opportunity if you like photography...
The Jewish Quarter, the Turkish Quarter, the Knights Quarter all make wonderful areas to visit... Every charming medieval street is an open air museum in my view... Unforgettable...
After touring the sites of the Old Town of Rhodes, you might want to walk around the walls. Beginning at the Palace of the Knights the fortification has a series of magnificent gates and towers, and is remarkable as an example of a fully intact medieval structure. Much of the structure can be viewed from just walking around the outside or the inside, presenting some great "windows" with stunning sea views...
