Hi all, I think this is a type of Grasshopper but it's not green like we have in the UK, rather a smoky grey with tinges of dark blue in colour. Taken in Bocairent, Spain during a short holiday, the BG is the swimming pool where I stayed.
Many thanks for the votes and comments on my previous upload and a special thank you to CarolG, EAS, Brian65, mex, Glostopcat, Craggwildlife and KBan for the UA's, very grateful for the support and so much appreciated,
Regards,
Geoff.

A gresshopper it is, and very well togged--

We have many varieties , sizes and colors of grasshoppers, They seem a variable family!

Great shot Geoff, super detail and background colour.
Looks like it's LH rear leg is missing, or should I have gone to Specsavers? Wink

They look different every time .. Had one last year. They really adapt to the stone, depending on where they live. Can't look now as I am 10000 kms from home but if nobody tells you I'll try on a French web site.

Well spotted Derek, I never noticed that but it's strange that you can't see any damage, maybe he lost a leg in a fight Wink

Geoff.

PS: not sure but could it be growing another leg, look at the rear end, something looks odd

A terrific close up of this beautifully marked grasshopper, he is most definitely a hopper as he's missing a leg!Wink
