First attempt of using photoshop! after using a guide what do you think?

I also did not capture him on the run Bob! So top marks for that, also as a beginner in Photoshop you have done extremely well, I have uploaded a mod for you, hope you like it.

Wonderful shot !!.....love the 'leaping' action, & obvious concentration on it's face !!.....love it !!!
I've done a mod. to add a bit of 'zing' to the shot, by adjusting the Levels to brighten & add contrast...but
I've also blurred the cats rear-end & tail to emphasize the 'action', & sharpened it's head & face.....plus a
thin black border to finish it off !...................
A very good shot under the circumstances. It is underexposed, and has a yellow cast overall that can be sorted out. If you want to just check levels, you will see that the histogram is bunched up in the middle; drag the right slider in towards the left to touch the graph, same on the other side and you will see a difference.
Good high ISO performance, - some noise but no a bother.
Ive uploaded a mod with exposre and white balance sirted out. Hope it works for you.

I think the MOD is brilliant, did you do all these in photoshop and I wonder how long it took? just starting out and its quite trickly to learn just the basics?

Hi Bob.....The mod was done in PSE 8, & took about 15mins. !
It took me about 2 years to fully get to grips with PSE 5 !...then upgraded to PSE 8 later, & I find it much easier
to use than Photoshop CS6 !!!!!!!!
It's all down to practice, trying all the facilities in the programme, & learning by mistakes a lot of the time !!.

Fantastic i have PSE10 but every time I have a go at something it either comes out wrong or time runs out for me. A lot time and heaps of patience is required I think, but you mod give me something to aim for so am well pleased and thank you for taking the time to do this and for your much needed and supportive comments.
