I find swallows extremely difficult to photo in flight. Did he just stay there Christine or did you manage an inflight shot too?? Nice capture of him here

Only seen these when they are migrating south, but sadly not for the last four or five years, use to get them in flocks of about 40 or 50 perched on the telephone wires.
