My sincerest thanks to you all for kind comments, votes and special thanks to Graham(digital_boi),
Jenn(taggart), Andy(andylea) Gary(milky) and Mark(marktc).
for User Awards - my best achievement so far on Ephotozine.
The competition which was for Sport Images was internally judged by club members
so it was no disgrace to come third when beaten by a sports expert with top gear!
Likewise today's upload which is similar to one of my other Glencoe images got
3rd place in coloured prints. This too was a good achievement for me as I only moved
up to advanced section this session.

I like the tree framing the scene, the kayakers obey the 'Rule of Odds' (how decent of them!) and as others have said, they provide scale as well as great interest and are a great variation on the 'figure in a landscape' theme.

The birch and overhanging foliage make a perfect frame for this landscape, and the kayakers are so perfectly positioned in the frame, Kate.
The sun bathed autumn/early winter colours are so warm and attractive.

Excellent natural framing and positioning of the boats, Kate. I'm with Trev on prefering this one, a lot stronger compositionally than yesterdays. A top class image.

Such a different feel from yesterday's image. I like the way that the kayakers are dwarfed by their surroundings. Good for you for the wins.
