I had been to intriguing and beautiful Green Lakes State Park, Syracuse, New York, several times and always anticipated that autumn here should be particularly special.
I was not disappointed. It was a cold autumn morning, the lake was shrouded in mist and the calls of geese echoed, their ghost like silhouettes floating through the mist - a photographic subject in itself.
I was treated to a show of rapidly changing, stunning autumn scenes as the dawn colors developed and the mist slowly lifted, unveiling the beautifully colored autumn foliage. I took this image later in the morning, when most of the mist had lifted - the light, colors and reflections were perfect.
