A view along the eastern shore of Loch Lomond towards Ben Lomond (our most southerly Munro) on a mild but overcast day in mid October.
I'm glad Santa's Cabin raised a few smiles and I thank all for the witty repartee in response.
Ronnie.
{For Information: Munros are Scottish mountains of 3000ft. (914.4m) or over, the highest being Ben Nevis. They were named after Sir Hugh Munro who first catalogued them in 1891. Mountains between 2500 and 3000ft. are known as Corbetts and those between 2000 and 2500ft. Grahams.. The highest point in this image (just to the left of centre) is Ben Lomond, the most southerly of all the Munros, and the flat ridge to it's left, an outrider from the main mountain, is known as Ptarmigan}

Very nice composition and framing. The clouds and sky add so much to the image.

Like the foliage frame and the mountain backdrop. This gets my vote - well done !
Composition is excellent. Would have loved to have manipulated the detail. Well done. WesternRed.
The green tones of the foliage stand out so well against the blue/grey water and sky. Well composed as always. Lovely capture Ronnie.

Amazing light Ronnie, through your photographs we can see what we missed on our trip to this beautiful place because of the rain, glad to make this 30 mate!
Regards
Trev.

A very lovely scene, Ronnie, with a moody sky looming up
Interesting write-up - I'd heard of Munros, but not Corbetts or Grahams ![]()

Grey and overcast but some lovely light finding it's way on to the foreground. My son who lives in the USA came over a few weeks ago and walked up Ben Nevis. Climbing mountains and going to football matches are always on the agenda when he visits.

Beautifully composed... Evokes fond childhood memories ![]()

Wonderfully atmospheric shot, Ronnie, top work. Beautiful lighting. Spot on.
Dave.
wonderful light and what a spectacular scenery. the wee branch just balances it nicely!
( have to drag Chris one day to Scotland... he thinks it is too cold and wet ever since he landed a bog with his parachute in 1960)
I really like the light catching the trees, and the spctacular veiw beyond the loch
Thank you too for the information on the various names for your peaks. The last time we were in Scotland we climbed Ben Nevis, but found we could not walk for two days afterwards..... ![]()

That is a fantastic landscape Ronnie, hope that you did not get caught in that shower that looks ready to burst.
Just watched 'Country File' and it has made me want to come that way again...so beautiful
You Going to try out one of those scooter 'things'

Hi Ronnie, this is really a great scene, the sky looks as if it would pour some more water to the lake.. Excellent timing ...
Samar..
Awwwwww, this is so beautiful! The light, the dark sky, the scape.... a perfect image of a perfect place!
Johanna
A wonderful view which is accompanied by a fascinating and most informative narrative. I thought Corbett's would be small hills of less than five foot!![]()
