Apologies to those who commented this evening on my earlier Sunflowers shot where I'd been playing around with blending modes.
However I caught this little fellow this evening in the garden and hastely set up a small home studio to take some shots before returning him/her back to the grass.
Studio set up was pieces of white card, twig in an oasis. Lit by handheld flashgun off the camera.

Excellent detail in the cricket and nicely controlled exposure. I'm in two minds whether I like the pure white background though, it gives it an abstract feeling
