Out walking the dogs. Always have my camera with me and this just caught my eye as a couple of tourists looked out on the incoming tide. Would appreciate constructive comments. New to digital photography and the world of photoshop is blowing my mind at the moment. Lots of fun.

Good composition, nice use of the rails, the figures and the lampost.

A belated welcome to epz, Paul. I must say that a 5D is pretty mind-blowing for a carry-everywhere camera! Mine is called Emergency Lumix, it fits in the palm of my hand but does not get called upon to respond to sweeping land/seascapes like this.
Excellent composition with both a lead-in and a lead-out, figures to suggest scale, promising textures to look at and a great mono conversion. I can't suggest a definitive improvement, but there are several modifications you might like to play with, e.g. cropping the foreground to the bottom of the wall on the right to give a letterbox format.
So a great first upload - welcome to the club!
Bill

Thank you for the comments. After a 10 yr break from taking photos for pleasure I got back into photography with an Ixus 750 which to be honest Bill is my normal carry anywhere camera. Recently treated myself to the 5D to get back into it more seriously. I bring it with me whenever I go out for a walk to practise my craft. Have just invested in some Grad filters and looking forward to playing with these over the coming weeks. Some really inspiring images on this site - a world of talent and so much to learn from it.

brilliant composition , great mono conversion
I don't like using PS , I do use filters & would much rather get it at source rather than using PS

Glad you like your 5D , I have the same camera and lens!
I like this image, good lead in and topped with the lovely street light in silhoutte.
A good image made out of a grey day!
