From round 3 of the Photography Monthly magazine UK's Best Photogapher.

The final 12 of us were given 45 minutes with a model with studio and garden facilities for location.

Please tell me what you think - I decided to go for 3 different looks/styles of portraiture from lads mag fashion to feminine lost love and then to cheeky studio shot.

Find out next week if I make it into the final 6 and the next round.

V1 and V3 are my faves. For me it would be V3 as the entry to the comp.
However if it was for a lads mag then it would be No.1.
Thanks 4 the share Smile

Great lighting and eyes in v3. V1 has loads of attitude. Very well done in such a challenge. You certainly got a great variety of shots.

All three are great but V3 just jumps out of the page as a stunning image. In fact....have this.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Knocked over with the user award from Carl - my first and many thanks.
Didn't make it through to the final 6 of the Photography Monthly Best Photographer and looking forward to seeing the winning portfolios of the final 6.

Has been a good year as following on from the positive encouragement I have received from the ephotozine users I had the courage to have a go and enter the competition and was pleased to get down to the final 12. Published in the process in both the September and October PM magazine. Also just heard that a pic I entered into the photomag360 animal portraits competition has been shortlisted to the final 3 for the next edition.

Yet to win anything but I am very happy with my first attempts at entering some competitions.

This is a great site that I have learnt so much from and I would recommend anyone who has yet to have a go at entering a comp to have a go - you never know where it may take you.

Paul

Sorry to hear you didn't get through but congratulations for reaching the last twelve!

I think all three shots are very strong, except that I really dislike the blur you've added to the first one: gives me a headache, I'm afraid. Sad
