Thank you for your continued support, apologies for not getting to vote yesterday....just so busy seeing Istanbul....what a wonderful city....
Thank you to Maureen (HarrietH) for her UA...much appreciated
There is just so much to see in Istanbul....so where to start...decided to start with a ferry ride on the Bosphorus. In the 18th and 19th centuries the Bosphorus was alive with caiques long thin rowboats), their oars dipping rhythmically into the currents as they carried the sultan and his courtiers from palace to pavilion and from Europe to Asia.
It is spanned by three mammoth bridges and is alive with ferries, cargo vessels, cruise ships and sleek speedboats.
there are many restaurants along the shore as well as beautiful homes and palaces and mosques
A selection of images of what the ferry ride has to offer ... not the sharpest images...but the top deck was overcrowded and it rained for the first 30 minutes so we got soaked. But it cleared and we had a bit of a sunset.
Have a nice day
