Hi from Sydney....
Thanks for all your comments about the Ashes cricket saga....GrinGrin
I visited the Chinese gardens this morning and came upon this Goanna lizard....its about 18 inches long. He kindly posed for me ...
V2 the bigger picture....you may need to view it as a smaller image
V3 a scenic shot of the lizard in his natural environment.
Tomorrow is our last day in Australia after 6 weeks away...
Have a nice dayGrinGrinGrin

Morning Coleen; Would have been V3 but I really wanted a dash more light on the 'beast.' It is for me the clarity and composure of V1 that I am drawn to. Having so said then I looked at V2 and it is huge, over lapping at each end! How on earth did you manage to get it quite so large on EPZ? When I view large it will not get the whole image in and I lose your signature at the one end and the tail at the other. Gorgeous shot though when I viewed smaller.

Great shot, that looks like a very young or small goanna, they can get very big and it is wise to watch out for that tail!

It was a very dark morning today ( we are already 6pm here) with rain threatening so no real light to speak of...not sure how V2 loaded so big....beyond me.....

What a beaut. Just love the bandings on the body. Don't think we have this here. Thanks for the 3 different views to fully appreciate this fella, Colleen.

V1 is my favourite, hands down, if I had to choose. The exposure on him gives us a good feel of the skin and that eye.

V3 is the winner here--- Love the lizard peer out from his environment!

AlexAppleby

V1 for me - great close up shot with so much detail and perfectly in focus. Best lizard photo I've seen on here for a while.
Sorry about this, I'm no lizard expert, but I'm pretty sure that's not a goanna (not sure but looks more like a water dragon).

A super set of this beady eyed chap, Colleen, especially V1, it's a real cracker SmileSmile Strange how V2 doesn't fit the screen - inspecting the elements detail of the image it shows as 1000 pixels wide, so should fit, yet goes off the edges of the screen when viewed large! Wink Still gets my UA though.... SmileSmile
