If that is the Sigma lens which it must be a tip for best results Colleen.

Close it down to F8 and don't shoot above about 470mm and you will find the images are at their sharpest, I had the lens for a couple of years with great results.

A great set of images here that you must be very pleased with.

I'm betting you had to use a tripod with this lens - I can hardly ever get a sharp image with my Canon 300mm!
So excellent work - I love V1 and V4 - flamingos are so beautiful and you've captures some special images.

Yes Kate it's impossible for me to hand hold. I don't have the strength. Took my lightweight travel Tripod with me. Not the strongest tripod for that lens so had to be careful.

A fabulous set of images of these pretty flamingos, v1 is fantastic for clarity, colours and feather details. It looks like you've mastered your new sigma lens already, I have one and I find the quality excellent especially now that i've got a new and better camera with more megapixels and more and better functions. Some good advice from Gary, but I will say that in good light the image quality is still very good even at 500mm. It tends to be when the light is poorer and it is handheld that the images at this distance are a bit hit and miss sometimes.

V1 is lovely and sharp, and those drips really set it off. However, I tried a Curves adjustemnt to boost contrast and that made it really 'pop'.
Likewise V4 is flat and would benefit from the same treatment. V3 is well processed.
You're certainly making the most of your new lens and you're getting some nice sharp results.
Keith
