Good morning....Thank you to all of you for your encouraging words and advice on my attempt at LE's yesterday and also to those who sent pm's.Its always hard to venture into new territory.
One thing I loved about the sand dunes in Namibia was that they changed colour during the day from pale creams to deep browns.....This will most probably be my last Desert upload for awhile....
We are flying to our game lodge today for 5 nights. Hoping to see the Big 5 but at this stage one has to wonder what we will find. The area including the Kruger National park have had over 250mm of rain over the last week .The rivers are in flood and the roads have been washed away. We cannot even reach our Lodge from the gate as the tracks are washed away. Most of the last few days guests have had to get out of the game vehicle (with the Big 5 lurking) so that the ranger and tracker can try and get the vehicle out of thick mud. More often than not they have had to call for help. The rivers have also been too deep.
I am not even sure if we will have internet and cell phone coverage. so who knows what awaits us....an adventure for sure
Update: arrived at the Lodge in the rain, got soaked in the open game vehicle, was more concerned keeping my camera bag dry. Water holes all full and lots and lots of mud
