Good morning....
Thank you to Cathy (Holmewood) for her UA, I was chuffed....Today a view through the legs of a Saddle billed stork, a large wading bird found in Africa.
They are silent except for bill clattering at the nest. They nest in large trees making nest of sticks and laying between one and two eggs. They feed mainly on small fish, frogs, crabs and also small reptiles and birds.
Have a great day....

A tripod straight from nature! 3 impressive shots but I do like how you have concentrated on legs, neck and beak in V 1........good photographic thinking outside the box.

Photo quiz: how many legs are in V1? Answers - 2? 3? 4?
For me the correct answer is 4 and the most interesting picture is V1
Is akin to stork?
V1 suggests to me the fact that some of your flag was inspired by this bird
However deeply unequal to "fight" you: how many rare and interesting animals are in South Africa, and if you start with the flowers from you too, what shall we do? Sit and admire ....

Lovely captures, V1 looks great with that reflection, though a slight crop and you have a great symmetrical image.
I hope you don't mind me saying but I just tried applying a little sharpening in Photoshop as the image here looked a bit soft. Myabe not so noticeable on smaller screens Smile

Thanks Keith....sadly the bird was far from us on the other side of the waterhole. Also I am sitting in the back of a game vehicle hand holding the camera, the bird moves up and down continually sifting through the water for food. I also don't have a big zoom lens to get in closer. One day I will understand photoshop and be able to use it, at the moment my images are straight from the camera...thanks for your kind comments

A good crop to produce a strong shape in the frame, Colleen, keeping the body in completes the circle.
