Good morning....TGIFGrinGrin
Thank you for all your votes and comments and to Herman for his generous User award for my Iris macro.

Yesterday we had the most unusual sunset....the skies were mostly clear but we had this broody pocket of clouds over the horizon. I should have planned earlier to go out and capture it from the sea but decided to shoot this from our apartment looking over the Cape Town soccer stadium. It was already dark when I captured this, just the clouds you see were still lit by the sun.
This is straight out of the camera, have just cropped top and bottom, the colours are real and have not been modified or saturated. It truly was a very unusual sunset.

We also have a ski boat club next to us as we live on a Marina, at lunch time yesterday a fire broke out in the boat garages and by the time the fire brigade arrived at least 6 boats had been burnt. It was a huge fire ...see V2,3,4....bet their were a few boys crying over their burnt toys last night

A superb sunset, Colleen, but the remaining images are heartbreaking for some, I wonder just how much was lost in that terrible fire. Carol

Yes Lillian it was already hot with a 31 deg day and the fire was intense heat, we were also worried about an explosion as their was fuel in the boats and sheds. Luckily no one was hurt, the aftermath is not a pretty sight today. Not sure how they get away with having no fire hoses etc on the site.

Very good reportage, Colleen, and v4 is spot on with the firefighters and flame on the beam. I'd be tempted to crop the right side to miss out that white block at the bottom of the frame which is showing quite strong fringing. The resultant square crop would make a very good stand alone image.

The sunset is lovely with the silhouetted buildings.
We often see images of African sunsets which look very bright.
The fire image V2 is excellent too.
Sorry about the lost boats though.

I have just caught up with your last three days I think it is…
The sunset was a magic capture but sorry to see the fire. Sydney has
have the worse fires over the last week. All arsonists lighted. So many
people have lost homes and all there possessions. I feel so sad for them.
If I was ordered to leave my home I am not sure what I would take, perhaps
my iMac under my arm. ha,ha,…...WinkWinkWink

Sadly Joan just been to chat to the owners....only one out of the four boats are insured. The biggest boat cost R1.5 million and it's a write off.
