Good morning....
Thank you for the great response to my pelican upload and a big thank you to John (jdiinne) for his UA, so chuffed.
Today back to Swakopmund....this was the view of the sand dunes from our hotel. The dunes are rich in iron ore and hence their colour. Some of the other dunes are golden in colour. Some of the worlds tallest sand dunes are found in Namibia (over 300m high)
The versions are just the bigger picture...all from the hotel....you will see the road that goes to Walvis bay, a 20 minute drive away
Have a nice day....

Great images, Colleen. In 2005, my wife and I (then newlywed), honeymooned in Tunisia. One of the highlights of the three weeks for me was two days spend in the Sahara Desert, on the edge of the sea of dunes. And it is red, like this. And very beautiful.

A fine set of desert images with their shifting sand dunes: I am always amazed at such dry parched land lying right beside the sea as your V 4 shows so clearly.
I love those TV programmes that show the flowering of the desert, and if I am not wrong, it is the Namibian desert that was featured.........the whole surface of the desert carpeted in amazing sweeps of colourful blooms.
And to be able to see all this from your hotel with all it's amenities, again as shown in V 4 with the beautifully constructed pool.

Lovely set Colleen, like the contrast between the sunny side and the shade,
Can now see yesterdays V3 and 4, excellent group shot in 3.
Had a play with the new Nikon Df at the show, if you get the chance give it a try, it' an amazing
camera, expensive at the moment but what a piece of kit. All the important bits from the D4 but a very retro style
Light and easy to use.

V1, the best, but V4 is also very interesting
In V1, like the design of the dunes, their lines
And the color of the dunes depends also of the light, atmosphere, the high-contrasts, etc ( I have seen in Northern Sahara, that colors are changing with the position of the sun on the sky vault)
