A nationally rare duke of burgundy basking in the Bill Smyllie field at Prestbury Hill nature reserve near Cheltenham, this was taken back in mid May when we had a week of good weather. The Cotswolds is one of the remaining stronghold for this species. Many thanks to John "Lifesnapper" and Simon "SimonFletch" for the user award on yesterdays upload the mandarin ducklings it is greatly appreciated, Ed

Your V1, with the vignette, or darkened corner, works well, Ed.
Draws the eye into the superb macro of this fine looking Duke.
