Thanks for your great response to my Lioness and her cubs yesterday.
A special thanks to Jenny and Ayoob for awarding me their UA's. It makes the 40 hours i spent capturing these wildlife images all worthwhile.
Today I thought i would give you a break from animals and share a beautiful sunrise. We always leave the lodge while its still dark so that we can get to a clear vantage point for sunrise shots. We had only been out 10 minutes or so when our Ranger stopped and said we had a flat tyre. It was the second one of the trip. In winter the thorns from the Thorn trees are deadly as they are dried out and hard like nails. They are as long as a finger as well. We had been off road the night before and must have picked up the thorn. thank goodness this happened in the early morning and not late at night with all those eyes watching us. Yes you have to get out of the vehicle while he changes the tyre. this is not for the faint hearted as its still dark and there are wild animals around. Anyway the sun started rising and this is the image I captured while standing shivering from cold and fear.
I will upload some pics of the thorns and the Ranger changing the flat tyre just for interest sake
Have a nice day
