I thought these images of table mountain would be appropriate today as we have woken up with very thick mist and three blaring fog horns.
I tok Australian friends up Table mountain a few weeks ago when there was very low cloud. I have a few different versions of the cable cars going up the mountain . the last version is an unusual view/angle of the mountain.
Table mountain has an elevation of 1085m. The first ascent by foot was in 1503 by Antonio de Soldanta. hikers still walk up the mountain today and takes a few hours.
The lower and higher cable stations were built between 1926 and 1928. It was officially opened in 1929. They have upgraded the system and cable cars 4 times since then, the last in 1997 when they designed these cars that rotate when moving so that everyone gets to see the view from each side. Tomorrow views from on top of the mountain.
