When out and about over the weekend, we noticed an empty shop at Deal Pier, owned by Dover Council it invited tenders for the lease. I duly called them this morning. Alas it has been out to tender and an offer accepted, they now go through a process and if all parties agree then it will be leased, however if it is not then we are next in line. Although it is a small shop, it has ample room to hang many many images and also allow for a computer and printer .... We feel that a spring and summer trade full time and perhaps a weekend opening winter time we could make enough to make it viable, now I am not one to wish ill will to anyone, however if the tender were to fail, I would not be unhappy either.
Listened to a a couple of ideas regards the market stall from colleagues today and surprisingly a comment on Sunday blog also got me thinking. So a few changes coming for the next time the 20th. Nothing rocket science but a few leaflets with our blurb and prices displayed on ALL items.
Also as a local "business" like many others I am sure, I got asked to provide a "prize" for a charity raffle. I have offered a pet portrait sitting to my own works raffle and all proceeds go to charity. I would love to be able to say yes to everyone that asks but where do you draw a line, we are a fledgling business and am not too proud to admit that were extended as far as we can be right now, so I need to learn to say no , sorry !
Till next time
