118 (147)Hi
Well we did manage out, it was cold and grey and eventually rain came down. We headed off to Brockhill Country Park near Sandling. The park is superb for a variety of reasons. It has an abundance of local flora and fauna, loads of different birds and insects ( in season ) lol ... The little lake is filled with duck and Robins were everywhere.
Talking to the warden, he was telling us that a Buzzard has appeared of late and that he had just witnessed it capturing some live prey, so needless to say we will be far more regular at this very local spot for some time. The car parking is cheap for the day £1.20 but if you buy a year long season ticket, £30. This allows parking in eighteen different explore kent sites. Value ! Also the little cafe/restaurant sells some great food and again it is far from expensive.
So if your from Kent/Surrey/Sussex why not take a trip to Brockhill.
Till next time
Colin
