My poor doggy is like a pharmacy on four legs by now. Apart from the cancer that she beat but which seems to be returning now, the arthrosis, the allergies and skin condition, she has a number of new, additional problems now as well. And after announcing one of them the vet didn't even want to give too much attention to the rest of them (like enemia, fluid in the lungs, a heart murmur, an increased heart rate, a growth in the belly) - she thought that the fact that Ashley's kidneys are failing says it all, really. There are no meds for canines to fight that, and no transplants - and even if there were, it would be pointless due to all the other medical problems.
So I'm giving her I don't know how many pills every day (which cost more than I'm spending on myself in food etc., but which are worth it, no doubt):
But looking at her (when she's sitting down) you wouldn't say she was terminally ill, would you? (You can tell when you see her struggling to walk, though, it's not an encouraging sight.)
I just hope that she makes it to her next birthday at least, on 28 June. The vet didn't want to guarantee it...
