My favourite model, the lovely Ashley, is down - in more than one sense of the word.
Over time, we had noticed her developing a slight limp. Thinking it might be the first signs of arthritis, the vet prescribed medication. And then it suddenly got a lot worse. A specialist had her leg x-rayed and found a torn cruciate ligament.
She had an operation yesterday, and although the orthopaedic veterinary surgeon called it a "success", I doubt that Ashley would use the same word if she could speak. She's just a heap of depressed dog now. It's heartbreaking to see her stumbling about - or just laying there, moaning.
And to think there's a hefty bill to pay for the operation which got my good friend so down. I still have to think of a way to find the money for it.
Unless you would like to buy a hardly used Canon fit Sigma 170-500 lens or a used recumbent tricycle?
