206 (350)Still thinking about giving images a more painterly feel, I suddenly realised that for this purpose I could probably make very good use of images that I previously considered unusable due to low quality, or other problems.
One image that I immediately thought of, was one that I'd taken in January with my previous phone, a Nokia E71. Nice scene, nice light, nice ship, but at that moment my camera was in the car (I'd been doing some shopping, and I don't usually take my camera with me for that purpose) and all I had handy was my phone. When I came home, I saw that the quality of the image was very low. The ship wasn't sharp at all, it would have taken a lot of sharpening in Photoshop, with all the disadvantages of that.
But if you're turning a photo into a painting-like image, this is no problem at all, I thought.
So here it is: my 'painting' of the Warrior:
