I loved the golden light on the white landscape on this day with a lot of frost and clear blue skies. This was taken shortly after sunrise, and in a location where the sun has to clear the dyke first before it can throw light on all of the landscape. Here it still only lit part of the landscape.

BTW, this is my good friend Ashley. If you look carefully, you can see a scar on her leg, where she's had an operation. Decided that cloning it out wasn't necessary.

As you can see, something has Ashley's attention. There was ice on the lake (which is out view here), and a broken-off reed was being blown across the ice by the wind. Ashley was very interested in its movement, and this enabled me to capture her sitting nice and still like this.

Well someone was going to say it Wink

Way more cute than lucky, an oversized white rat can not compare to a golden retriever in any way shape or form Grin

WHat a beautifly detailed shot, and lovely light.

Hehe, let's hope Cole doesn't read this...

But thanks for the compliments so far, people - also on behalf of Ashley, who would be flattered, I'm sure!

Just outstanding. Superb lighting, everything is perfect, looks like he is waiting for his prey....

Love that light in the bg!
I was going to ask if that is the scar of her operation on her back leg. Hope she is all fine now.

White rat is better than red rat stealing nuts... :-p

Excellent shot conrad, the light and Ashley's clouring go very well together. Ashley's expression adds to the interest here also.

Thanks, people!

And Stuart, thanks for the mod! There's something to be said for the crop. And I see what you mean about the extra space. I suppose with this easy foreground it should have been possible to create a little extra space at the bottom of the photo...
