Ever since I'd had comments about the skin colour in this version, I've wanted to do a mono version, but I kept forgetting about it. Well, here it is. This was shot with the studio set-up during last year's Rowardennan Meet.

I don't have a lot of confidence in my ability to make good mono conversions (which is why I don't do it too often, although I suspect that this is the way around...), so suggestions are welcome! And mods, of course.

Thanks for looking!

C.

I like the tones in your conversion. The off-camera looks works really well too.

Whilst the colour version is very good... I do think I like theis mono version even better... it has such wonderful tonal qualities to it. Smile

Pete - Just a click means you like the conversion, I assume? Thank you, too!

Cheers, guys.

Looks good to me. I cannot see anything obvious I would change with the conversion. Very effective.

She was a super model (or should that be 'Supermodel') nad this really brings out the fun side.

As much as I like this, I feel that thereis a touch of burn-out on the cheek and above the top lip.

I have added a modification (not to improve - just so that I could look for longer)

Roy - Well spotted! I often do this: stare at one aspect of a picture (in this case the tones and contrast), and forget about others. I completely missed that. Glad you spotted it. Thanks for the mod!

Colin - LOL, that doesn't say anything good about my ability as a photographer, does it, if she's so easy to photograph! But you mean well - thanks for your comment!

And thanks to all the others, too - thanks, guys!

Thanks, Nicholas!

Colin, actually, what you said, was how I felt myself. It didn't feel like I had had much to do with creating this image. Other people had set up the lights, Joanna was there being her jolly and photogenic self, and I just happened to press the shutter release!
