When you've seen many shots of a location already, and you're standing there, being joined by ever more photographers, you tend to get creative in choosing your viewpoints. Here's one I hadn't tried before. Let me know if you like it! (And don't forget to tell me why...)

Great textures Conrad. An alternate crop could be just under the rocks, but I do like this one.

True, it could be cropped like that. But I didn't want to make this too square, and also this is a rather unusual kind of foreground, something I also liked.
Quote: Excellent viewpoint Conrad, and good processing by Jacqueline (though I somehow doubt she needed your "supervision" ) Nigel
If I want to learn from what she does, it's the only way. I have tried before to let her help me do it, but that doesn't work, she'll always have me move over and let her do it herself. So if I want to know how it works, I have to sit next to her and watch it, it's the only way...
Thanks for the comments, everyone!
I like the comp and subject Conrad but there appears to be a brighter halo around the mountain in the darker clouds of the sky, could have been there but seems processed and it detracts a little for me.
John
Both true, John - there was a bit of a halo there, because somewhere behind the mountain a little light appeared for a while (unfortunately only behind it, and only a little), and since the sky was emphasised a little in processing, this effect was also enhanced. Haven't found the ideal way to do this yet. I mainly like this one for the unusual composition and the many different white and grey tones.
