Another image I managed to get while down Glen Etive the other week. My models were watching The Rug (my dog for those who don't know him) which was rather convenient as it gave me a chance to get a few shots while moving along the road, getting the deer in front of the band of low winter sunshine.

Magical lighting seems to follow you around the countryside, Jeanie: just wish it would me tooWinkWink.
A wonderful highland image, the deer almost in silhouette against that brilliantly lit hillside.
Ronnie.

Jeannie, I like this a lot (and I mean a lot), but for me it could be a real winner (and I mean potentially one of the best images I've seen on here), but it needs some minor changes. I would lift the deer, isolate them and put an up curve on them, I would also do the opposite with the light band (tho be careful, or you will lose the contrast, and you will probably need to use luminosity mode to stop the yellows crunching).

You may have to darken the foreground a touch if you do the changes to give balance. I normally wouldn't go into detail but I really do think this image has a lot more to give.

It's not a problem at all, it is worth taking some time over and getting it spot on Smile after posting the comment, I even thought it maybe worth doing 2 RAW conversions, one for the mountains and one for the dear, it's sometimes easier to colour balance in RAW.
