My first sighting of this beautiful bird in Sweden...male

Taken in bright sunshine, but think have managed the colours correctly
at least I am pleased with it.

Thanks everyone for stopping by on the Owl yesterday...very much appreciated

V2
trying to show some of the scenes from Sweden
one of the hides spent a night in...freezing 16 hours!!! and not a bird showing next morningWink
that's nature photography for you

I've only ever seen this bird in books. Must have been great actually seeing one in reality. Mind you, not too sure I'd want to spend even an hour in that set-up in v2!!

That's a super capture of the hawfinch Lillian. I'm very impressed that you spent the night in that hide! You're upping the stakes a bit there....! Smile but what a shame no birds appeared for your pains!

It is so interesting that you are showing us what one goes through to capture the great images that we see on the site. It's certainly not an easy thing producing such beautiful wildlife close-ups. V1, is a bird that sounds very unusual. Good shot........Sandy

V1 is a cracking image Lillian have not seen one of these either

Sorry just seen V2 the hide? it looks like a pimple on the b*m of the world. probably the the birds fell off their perches laughing. With the lens poking out it reminds me of a dalek from Captain Who?

That is one really well camouflaged hide, Lillian.

Gorgeous shot in V1! I love the pinpoint of light in the eye and the metallicness of the beak Smile
