A determined Snowy Owl taking flight
unfortunately on a damp and grey sky..and wind didn't help!


V2 coming in to land..

so overcast...very high ISO and speed

Brilliant, I did pop out briefly today and saw red kites but they were too distant for the small lens I took out and the weather ratty soggy under foot I didn't want to get my new camera wet either it was rainingBlush

Two good images only let down by conditions beyond your control - ie the sky

Might be worth a note for newer togs that; 1/5000s is faster than was actually required for these shots, so the ISO could have been reduced.

With the new pro or semi-pro cameras higher ISOs are not an issue, so the images do not suffer for it, but those with lesser cameras should not try and emulate the 1250 ISO unless they know they will not get excess noise. My own previous camera stated a maximum ISO of 3200 but 1000-1250 would have been it's practical limit.

Good to see use of +EC

Blimey it's a long way to the end of your comments! For me this is a really good image; I much prefer action shots, or as they are called these days, BIF's ( birds in flight).

So in my opinion this is really good photography!
