He is rather beautiful, Moira, but needs to have pride of place in a large expanse of open ground, not stuck against a building Smile Carol

That's what he is destined for Carol - he was nearing completion here and the trailer was ready to carry him off to Liverpool. That will have been an interesting experience for some drivers on the M62!

If only they would alert us to the date and time of transit, we could all form a clickers' convoy. Nice sculpture and the leaves make an interesting backdrop.

How do you find them Moira? I think you must have a sixth sense for finding interesting things to photograph.

Excellent capture.

This is definitely a new piece of work, Diane. I've just spoken to a nice man at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The sculptor is Brian Fell who created the Haha Bridge in the Park. Here he is simply renting workshop space, not working under the Park's direction. The elephant is destined for a regeneration project in Kirkby, Liverpool. If I can find anything more out I'll post details.
Brian actually pointed out the photographic possibilities of the V1 view, by the way - he had been been looking out from his workshop at the elephant's head looking in.

Now that would be a sight to stumble ontoSmile V1 is fantastic.
When they transport him, it will certainly turn a few heads. I hope they get a police escort at the very least.

What a great find but I agree with Carol in that he is not seen to advantage placed as it is.
Excellent detail and tonal range.

V1, like an escapee from the zoo. What a great find and surprise to see this appearing around a corner. Like both images.

Need to be a big corner to fit this one in Moira.
And will need a bigger bath for it than the one here !!
