Recent trip to Appleby Horse Fayre. I was collecting some images for my 'straight' photography and I felt a little 'out of my depth', excuse the pun.

I was sat right at the waters edge in the sand and mud for several hours and a little scared of falling in the river and a little scared when the horses came right upto the riverbank edge where I was sat.

The gypsys were very polite to me and told other gyspys to be mindfull of splashing my camera.

The RSPCA was there all day and oversaw the handling of the horses. They did a brillient job and the gyspys respected their rules and took the horses out when told.

I will be adding more Appleby photos to my Facebook, click the like button on my Facebook page if you would like to see them as I process them.

Excellent reportage, there's a sense of tension, and the balance between the angles of the two heads.

A great shot -- especially the low point of view. This one was worth all your trepidation.
Thanks for including the commentary -- makes for interesting reading.

They didn't let them in the water until Sunday as they were waiting for the water levels to drop in the river. Luckily I was up there for 4 days, you should have inboxed me, we could have met up for a chin wag =)

I thought about going there for that weekend but it was along way from South Wales.
Maybe next year.
Excellent clear shot.
