Taste is not only a part and index of morality, it is the only morality. The first, and last, and closest trial question to any living creature is "What do you like?" Tell me what you like, I'll tell you what you are.

Very nice idea, the B&W conversion, & colour popped head.
The head just seems to have lost a little detail, especially when compared to the body, on which you can see every feather.
Great use of DoF. Literally the only thing in focus is the rooster. & he's good & sharp front to back.
Swaggering macho, the eye of the hunter (though with a very small brain behind it). I like this look in a rooster, can't stand it in humans. Not sure what that says about me either...
Great processing and a damn fine original shot, they're difficult to photograph, very uncooperative.

You are so true in your observation/critique i don't know about the processing although by darkening the head my intention was....highlighted in your parenthesis, and paying attention in what i do (read me like a book) means to me more than any award. Happy and not surprised this coming from you, THANK YOU.
This is fantastic. The swirling shapes of the feathers, the blood red head and the shape that arrogant stance make in the frame all work to add tremendous presence. Your processing adds a lot to this too, with the over dark, mostly black and white look taking it into a scary sort of 'Sin City' territory.
Wonderful work. Have a rare but very well deserved Blue Diamond. ![]()
