Details in a Masonic Hall. A weird place – gloomy, sterile, depressing, disturbing.
Which reminds me, I must start uploading my Great Yarmouth pictures soon.
Thanks for looking,
Moira

"gloomy, sterile, depressing, disturbing" - they are all conveyed in this well composed shot Moira - I'm unsure about the border, though white seems the right colour.

Quote: order : effex pro2 ?

Can't keep anything secret from a Frenchman... Spot on Pascal, but I considerably reduce the white strip. (I also add canvas space first, because otherwise the border eats into the composition).
Thanks early birds,
Moira

Very good arrangement of the strong shapes, the content is less important to me here. Sombre low key image and well presented, and excellent description GrinGrin

Marvellous atmospheric image and it tells the story so well. The allusion to Gt Yarmouth is special indeed Moira.

Now they'll never see your knee.

Hand-held, Costas - I have a steady hand! (I've managed 1/5 second on occasions.) Thanks so much for your UA, and thanks to everyone else who's visited here.

Dark, sombre and well picked out and processed. Why is your hand not so steady when you spill my coffee?

The processing is very appropriate for this place with its strange ways and secrets. It makes me feel uneasy and a feeling of being excluded....

Great composition, and atmosphere. I must admit I get no sinister or depressing feel from this. Sombre probably fits best.
As for your yarmouth comment, that is a true classic, although I doubt the good citizens of that town will thank you.

Interesting and mysterious. I'm surprised you're allowed to take pics in a masonic lodge, but perhaps they didn't know. Smile

Love that Efex Pro border Wink - I also really appreciate the software from NIK, there's power in those sliders.

A very moody and dark image - wonderful rich blacks. Superb detail, and just enough dof to let us read "Brotherly Love" in the background.

I have to ask what you were doing ina Masonic hall, Moira...bbut then again, perhaps not. Not visitiong the gents facilities, camera in hand?
Recognised the efex border as Pascal did. My favourite piece of photographic software...efex 2, that is, not PascalWink

Marvellously moody and mysterious, MOira.

Moira,
You certainly captured the ". . . gloomy, sterile, depressing, disturbing . . ." atmosphere of this place. Your mono conversion really adds to that as well.

excellent. To late for my award but it would deserve it. Brotherly love is as cynic ans the liberté egalité fraternité. In both cases women don't comer into it but that isn't ll of it. It is cliques secretive goings on etc.
