On a recent greek hol. Having a stroll around one of the beautiful small villages this lady was sat outside her small quaint very basic home, on smiling and saying hello she wanted to show us around her home , after having a few moments with her and taking her picture we carried on our merry way. Apologies if anyone knows or knew this lovely lady in Santorini, but the lady had no hesitation in allowing me to photograph her..Thanks for comments and votes yesterday......David

Those eyes have seen so much in their lifetime. This is a lovely study and I really like the dark bg. If I was to make a suggestion it would be to crop out her arm, which I find detracts from the image, rather than adding to it.

A really beautiful portrait, and b&w is perfect, it usually seems so much more respectful towards older faces.
I suspect that you have isolated the face and hand to darken the background, and the resulting outline is harsh and sharp. If this is what you've done I think it would be worth revisiting the original and trying a less extreme contrast and softer outline.
