The aim of the trip was to photograph brown bears with the autumn colours.
This image was taken after nearly 14 hours in the hide without seeing anything the previous evening during the period of light. On waking the following morning it was not looking that promising and you do wonder why you just spent a night sleeping on the floor of what is in fact a glorified shed. And then...
A bear appears and all is right with the world. Even makes up for the bites acquired in this hide as it literally sits on the water which makes it prime insect country.
Again a fairly lucky shot. The bears had only been visiting this site during hours of darkness for a couple of days after the shooting season had ended, and possibly because of the noise from the logging nearby which starts at 4am long before it is light enough for photography. So only half of the group got any shots from this location as the previous session nothing had appeared.
Because of the autumn foliage this has really high compression to get it down to 400kb, so hopefully still looks OK.
