Taken at this years National 25 mile time trial. One of my favourite shots of the day, as I feel it really conveys the speed of the rider.
Nice action shot. ness
Thank you for your comments. Some riders are easier to pan with than others as they keep a smooth line with their back and shoulders, only moving the legs, and luckily this chap was one of them.
Great sence of speed
nice shot - some blur to show speed but still crisp enough
well done, I know how difficult this can be
Wow, I'm absolutely Gobsmacked! Pete, thank you, I really appreciate the EC. Have just run downstairs like a complete loony to tell hubby
Thank you all very much for your comments.
Well done Sarah, fully deserves the EC
Excellent action shot..should get out on my bike more as well.
Well done Sarah.
Thank you John and Les for your comments.
Pefect panning. Well done!
Thanks Stevie, it's taken me quite some time to get the hang of it
Absolutely superb - made me feel dizzy looking at it Very many congrats on an excellent shot.
Thanks Allie, I was getting a bit dizzy at that stage after panning all day
well done Sarah
Thanks Maddie & thanks Cathy, and yes, there was some very nice lycra on display
Voted a while back, came back to say I know how hard it is to do pan shots and this one is exceptional.
If I could pick out a little "flaw" it would just be the tiny patch of white in the greenery at the top left, but that is me being extremely picky. And I was good and waited until a lot of people had time to view it before mentioning it
It doesn't spoil the image or anything, but I just feel like someone said on one of my puffins shots it would be better not there.
Just to show how picky I'm being I've even created a user-award just for this image - your are the first and likely only recipient as I really haven't seen another pan shot as good as this in a very, very long time here on ePZ
Thank you Cheryl, that is very much appreciated. I've had this image on my pc for a few weeks now, and it's one I keep going back to. Not too popular on my website, as it is the top racers who get viewed the most.
The flaw would be easy to correct in this and now I've spotted it, thank you, it will be going in my copy at home.
Thank you very much for your award
Nice shot, THANK YOU !
BUT the whitebalance has to be corrected (less red)
AND the compression curve should be enhanced too (more black).
...THEN it would be PERFECT.
Thank you for the comment. The photograph has been adjusted and on my monitor, the red and blacks are correct.
This is fabulous!
Beautiful shot with a real sense of speed. (unlike mine )
Lol, I did wish the cyclists were nice and still like yours!
Whoo hooo! Well done Sarah. A great shot and excellent capture of motion. Expect you've been watching the Tour. Sadly we can't afford to go this year. Felt very nostalgic today as the finish is in Foix near where we stayed and saw Lance in 2005!
Thanks Deb, yes we're watching the tour as well. Shame you can't go this year, but there's always another year. We're on holiday in Bournemouth next week, luckily because it's Andy's parents flat, so free holiday for us
All the best
how did i miss this one what a superb image Sarah very well done.
Now thats how to take photos of cycling!!!!
thanks for your comment on my effort
Excellent action shot; a great bit of panning and a wonderful sense of speed from the various forms of motion blur
Thank you Tim.
Very good action shot. Elke
