Welcome to my portfolio! It always amazes me when people want to see my work - your visit makes me really chuffed.

I've only recently taken up photography and am just learning to go beyond the "point and shoot" mode on my camera. I upload a lot of my photos to share with family and friends on Flickr. However, I felt it would be nice to have a portfolio somewhere just to showcase the photos I'm proud of. That's what this is.

I love trying to capture the ephemeral - fleeting moments - a laugh, a wink, a moment in nature, a beautiful sunset. I try to capture things that are upbeat, make me feel happy or hide a noble message.
I love it when I feel my photo has captured the character of the subject - for example, my bee kneeling to drink nectar from a flower or the blackbird in full song.
There is so much sadness and difficulty in life I like to redress the balance by trying to create beautiful and happy photos

So plenty of aspirations, but I'm also studying towards a second degree at the moment as well as working full time, so I'm not outside as often as I'd like. 2 years to go!!
