Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine, is commemorated outside Coventry Transport museum with this sculpture - the Whittle arches.
The museum is well worth a visit - an amazing collection of transport from over the years, as well as a simulator that lets you experience attempting to break the land-speed record. On top of that, and amazingly, it's free!
