jake ,my grandson on his favourite slide. took vibrance right down and boosted the blacks. first time i have altered an image.

A good capture of Jake. Perhaps he is a little too central in the photo - cropping from the right could help here. Also the photo may need a little brightening up particularly in the mid-tones. I've uploaded a mod for your consideration.

A charming natural image and a cheeky grin. I like the way you have framed Jake within the frame of the slide. The conversion works well and I'm glad you had a go at editing the image, this is the only way to learn, and can be very satisfying when you get it right.
