Firecrest- Regulus ignicapillus

Went to my local reserve today as you never know what might appear. Whilst chasing a goldcrest this little one turned up! Despite the really awful background, I was so chuffed to have managed this one shot out of 4 oof ones. Shame it didn't perch in a more convenient place, but you can't win 'em all Smile I guess it shows their natural environment.

Please view large if you can

Hope you enjoy.

Fran

Excellent capture Fran, one could complain about the background not being as clean as one would wish, but to get any kind of image of this tiny species is an achievement in my book, well done mate.

A very well captured image of this one of the most difficult of subjects.

Have an RC !!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I seemed to have lot a lot of colour after upload... the red stripe, as in the original it is quite vivid.

Glad you all like it!

Great to have captured this one Fran - never mind the b/ground.
Less than 200 pairs nest in the UK. Good detail and you are right the Red is usually quite bold on these. Well done.

Regarding the colour Fran...I notice that you have not changed the colour profile to sRGB for up loading to the web...I did it once & the colours looked oh so wishy washy.....that may be the reason here.
