Taken on Saturday, these are one of Britains rarest species of butterfly. This one was captured very early morning after roosting overnight. It hadn't warmed up enough to fly, which enabled me to take several images whilst it was still perched.

ISO 640,1/20th sec, f13

A beautifully-composed photo. Almost too much detail (did you notice he's missing part of one leg?!)

Excellent capture Fran, you've done well with this one sweet.......Dunno about you taking shots of butterflies as well though, you know I don't like the competition.....LOL

Great image Fran. Not sure about taking and capturing it though, especially as it's so rare. Surely that's against the law?...LOL
